April showers bring May flowers? No, here in the Northwest its been more like: April, May, and June showers flood out the so called "May flowers!" We have had only a few days of sun after a LONG stretch of rain. And, No, my flowers aren't completely flooded out, just not standing up nice because of the pounding they all got from the rain.
Now, with rain, comes mud. We have this wonderful sand box that we got Zoe last summer for her birthday. We forgot to put the lid on it after some fluke sunshine and then a torrential down pour later that day. So the sand was all wet and the kids found it. I was finishing up in the kitchen and heard giggles, which made me want to come see what was making my kids play so nicely. And I found this.
When I saw how filthy they were I just let them stay out there for as long as they wanted, making sure they didn't come inside. We literally hosed them down outside and the bath water that night was so murky it was gross. But, they had fun and were happy, so oh well!
